Taliesin West 2005

Rich and Lauren joined a discovery tour of Taliesin West, the Scottsdale-based architecture school founded by Frank Lloyd Wright.  The discovery tour is 1.5 hours long and is targeted at students.  Of course, Lauren's reaction to everything was, "this is weird."  At 14, everything is weird, which is a far cry better than when she was 13, when everything was "boring."  Let's see, when does everything associated with adults start becoming "stupid," is that 15 or 16?  Actually, I think at 15 everything is "gross" and then at 16 it all turns "stupid."  All I really know is that Rich revels in watching his twenty-something kids who now use "cool" to describe everything that used to be so boring, weird, gross, and stupid.

The last two pictures are of Lauren in the new clothes that Aunt Vicci had to buy her to console her after her encounter with Taliesin.  Now, Aunt Vicci may not be much of an architect, but I sure know something about the whole gypsiegirl clothing look.
