Disneyland/Knotts 2005

Rich and I joined my family at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm in October to celebrate the 4th birthday of the youngest of my nieces, a longstanding tradition in our family.

Disneyland

We stayed in a hotel at the Anaheim resort, and on the walk to Disneyland, we stopped to call a missing family member to wish her a happy birthday over the cell phone.  This is the fiftieth anniversary of Disneyland, so the whole park is decorated in 50th birthday insignia.  Since there were 19 of us there and the lines were long, we didn't get a lot of rides in, but then again, the only new one was the reworked Space Mountain, so we made sure that we did that one first.

Knott's Berry Farm

Knott's Berry Farm closes at 5:30PM during October and becomes "Knott Scary Farm" at night in honor of Halloween.  During the day, the park is not at all crowded, so we were able to get onto the roller coasters without a wait.  At Camp Snoopy, they had a treasure map where the little ones were able to collect a scarf,  eye patch and pirate hat as a costume.  Meanwhile, the older kids were out doing the roller coasters, with Chelsea and Rich waiting the few extra minutes it took to sit in the front row of every ride.
